Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art that focuses on control, submissions, and leverage-based techniques. It’s often described as “human chess” and is one of the most effective martial arts for self-defense and sport.

Absolutely! Most of our students started with zero experience. Our structured classes are beginner-friendly and designed to help you progress at your own pace.

Our gym is led by Jake Mackenzie and Melissa Britez, who have spent the majority of their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey training, teaching, and competing in Brazil—the birthplace of BJJ. Their extensive international experience across 25 countries, combined with this deep cultural connection, brings an authentic and rich perspective to our instruction. Beyond world-class technique and tradition, we pride ourselves on fostering a close-knit, supportive community where everyone—from beginners to advanced athletes—is welcomed, encouraged, and motivated to grow both on and off the mats.

Definitely. BJJ builds strength, endurance, flexibility, and coordination—all while keeping things fun and engaging. You’ll get in shape without even realizing it.

Wear a t-shirt and athletic shorts or leggings if you don’t have a gi. We can lend you one for your trial class, and our team will guide you from there.

Yes! Our Kids Program is open to ages 7–14 and focuses on building confidence, discipline, and athletic skill in a safe and fun environment.

Absolutely. Our kids’ classes are run by experienced coaches who know how to engage and challenge students while keeping things safe and age-appropriate.

Not at all. Many of our members train for fitness, self-defense, or personal growth. That said, if you’re interested in competing, we have a strong competition team and plenty of support to help you get there.

2–3 times a week is perfect for beginners. You’ll see steady progress while giving your body time to adapt and recover.

BJJ is known for its tough but rewarding belt system. It typically takes 8–12 years of consistent training to earn a black belt.

Beginners usually start with drills and techniques. You’ll be introduced to live sparring gradually, when you and your instructor feel you’re ready.
